Kofax Import Connector (KIC) 2.8.0 Fix Pack 4 | Release Date: March 18, 2021
Features Introduced in this Fix Pack
New parameters in KFXConverter.ini: Following parameters are added to the kfxconverter.ini file:
– RemoveRedundantObjects – If set to true, removes the redundant nested and empty canvases. Additionally, neighboring glyphs with similar formatting are concatenated. Default: false
– FitTablesToWindow – If set to true, sets the preferred width for the tables to 100%. Default: false
Split images into multiple batches using patch code: Kofax Import Connector can import images and split them into multiple batches by detecting the patch code.

Features Introduced in previous Fix Packs
ImageMagick Temporary Folders – Temporary folders for ImageMagick are now created at C:\ProgramData\Kofax\KIC-ED\MC\Blobs. Restarting Message Connector will delete the temporary files. ImageMagick temporary files are deleted after successful conversion. Leftover temporary files from failed conversions are deleted at the time of Message Connector restart.
Improved security for MS Graph connections – Following fields are added to MS Graph connections for improving the security:
Tenant ID: Enter the directory/tenant ID. This ID is generated after registering the application in Microsoft Azure Active Directory. This field is optional.
Client secret: Enter the secret string which you have provided in the “Certificates and secrets” section of your application in Microsoft Azure Active Directory. The application uses this secret string to prove its identity when requesting a token. Note: The Client secret field is optional and only required when you have provided the secret string.
New parameters for PDF normalization – For PDF normalization, following parameters are added to “Advanced conversion details” under “SKIPCONVERSION”:
InputPDFhasAttachments: If set to True, the conversion of an input PDF file is skipped if it has attachments. Default: False
InputPDFhasUnknownFonts: If set to True, the conversion of an input PDF file is skipped if it contains unknown fonts. Default: False
InputPDFisaValidPDFA: If set to True, the conversion of an input PDF file is skipped if it is a valid PDF/A document. Default: False
InputPDFisSigned: If set to True, the conversion of an input PDF file is skipped if it is signed. Default: False
Add the following to the kfxconverter.ini file: //SkipConversion when input PDF is a valid PDF/A or input PDF has attachments or input PDF is signed or input PDF has unknown fonts [SKIPCONVERSION] InputPDFisaValidPDFA=false InputPDFhasAttachments=false InputPDFisSigned=false InputPDFhasUnknownFonts=false
Problems Resolved in previous Fix Packs
1511017 – After update to 184.108.40.206, corrupt and empty faxes are imported which lead to document conversion error.
1510268 – .mht files with tables cannot be converted since 2.8.
1509773 – MC stop working due to limitations in skip filter list.
1501031 – “Import Concatenated PDF only” fails with simple messages if “Skip converting” and “Skip Import” is configured.
1466869 – KIC cannot create batch when conversion file type is the same as the original file type in specific scenario.
